will have a live report coming up later with mike pelton. also later, the latest on the power outages. 18,000 utility in the sonoma, particularly in santa rosa. elsewhere in the north bay, 6400 experiencing powd power outages and also 2200 people in the san francisco. 1300 are on the dark on the peninsula. with that flash flood a flash flood watch for the north bay also has cities near the russian river on alert. water levels have risen onto land in some parts of

guerneville. and even though it's normally a slow-moving river... >> with 6-7 ft. it begins to get scary. we have to think about leaving town, turning off electricity, gasoline. and so forth. >> the national weather service says that it could be possibly a flooded road to a.m. with noon tomorrow reaching the highest levels. in this video shot yesterday, you can see that the river is rising fast. flooding, every decade or so, is not uncommon. the last serious threat was in the first days of january 06 of course the possibility always makes residents nervous. the national weather service says the russian river will flood guerneville around 2 a.m. monday... highest point around noon tomorrow... with water levels >> the latest series of storms has some arborists concerned about trees in the bay area. the saturated ground could force trees and bushes to collapse. about the threat. >> all of the whe--wieight..

fire crews responded to a two-alarm fire near the san ()* *vo * )á the fire started in the historic fleishhacker pool building next to the zoo parking lot around one p-m. the building was once world's largest heated saltwater pool. since the building shut down, it has been known to attract the homeless. as suspicious. >> in the south bay. police releasing a sketch of a suspect in connection with the murder of a high profile venture capitalist in monte sereno. as a white or latino man... six feet tall . he has black hair... dark eyes... and a light complexion. friday, police found the body of ravi kumra at his monte sereno home near los gatos. his wife called for help assailants had ransacked the home and beaten her. hospital with minor >> oakland police arrest four men saturday in connection with a string of robberies in the east bay. some tense moments as police searched for the suspects near the oakland and berkeley border. they blocked off several streets. a tip led them to that area. the string of robberies happened near lake merritt, the lakeshore area and on piedmont street. >> ford motor company is

recalling nearly 90-thousand 2013 ford escapes and ford fusions because of a fire hazard. the car maker says there have been reports of overheating and fires in models with the one-point- six liter ecoboost engine. ford says it's working on a way to fix the problem. in the meantime, ford is asking affected owners to contact a dealer as soon as possible to arrange for a loaner vehicle at no charge. >> we're learning more details now on a murder - suicide involving a kansas city chiefs football player. police say linebacker jovan belcher killed his girlfriend and then drove to arrowhead stadium and took his own life. george howell reports belcher took his life in front of team officials. >> off the kansas city chiefs are mourning the loss of a teammate. there but they were arriving, they saw

him taking his own life. >> he was talking to a couple of coaches in the parking lot and had a gun to said. they heard the gunshot. they had a gun- to his head.. >> just 20 minutes earlier he shot his girlfriend at her home and died at a local hospital. >> we heard that they had been arguing in the past. and even recently. >> the team released a statement that we can confirm that there was an incident at arrowhead earlier this morning and we are cooperating with the authorities in their investigation. belcher played all four seasons with the chiefs at his best season was last year with 120 tackle career high. they are scheduled to play sunday against the carolina panthers. george howell.

to come out and to remedy that situation. we are monitoring the water, the rivers, it is rising. there is still room to go but no flooding as of yet. >> chief, predictions on flooding the specific waterways? does that mean that it is to not as bad as you thought possible compared to previous years? >> is not as bad as usual, yet. a couple of good things. there is still room to grow for the water. our high tide was 4:4:05 a.m. so the tide is going out will make room for more room and water. hot on the downside, there is water in the river is rising faster than normal. i think that is because there is a

saturation. we have not had a lot of rainfall. perhaps not even 1 in.. but the rivers are where they were to mornings ago when we had 3 in. of rain fall. that is a concerning. 2 warnings ago and also the river tributaries are a concern to mornings ago, the water is just as high and also the maximum of stream of the water to be terris. 30 minutes-60 minutes the maximum stream of water-- tributaries. it has been running for the last couple of hours and other areas so there is a large basin that goes to our tributaries and that leads into the river. it takes time for that rain to get on the ground to make it down here. we are still

in the latest from egypt, its top court is shutting down indefinitely. judges issued a statement this morning saying they are afraid for their safety. thousands gathered to keep judges from entering the courthouse in cairo

today. they were trying to prevent a ruling on a new draft constitution. which has provoked more protests president mohammed morsi and the muslim brotherhood have been at odds with his secular political opponents and the judiciary. just before thanksgiving, the president issued a decree granting himself more powers and stripping judges of any power to challenge him. so it isn't clear what effect the court's ruling would have had. >> new this morning... israel is going to withhold more than 100 million in taxes that it collects on behalf of palestinians. the retaliation is punishment for palestinians' successful bid to win upgraded status at the united nations...seen as a symbolic move toward statehood. israeli officials say they also reject the u-n's vote for palestinian statehood in the west bank, east jerusalem and the gaza strip. those territories were captured by israel in the 1967 mideast war. authorities say nine militants and at least five afghans are dead after taliban suicide bombers attacked a joint u-s.-afghan air base in eastern afghanistan early today. there was gunfire for at least two hours as american helicopters fired down at militants before the the jalalabad air base since february. two afghan university students and three other afghan civilians working at the base were killed. >> firefighters are picking

supervisor told me to enter the contest i just put it on paper. i have been trained in a lot of environmental knowledge. so i combined these elements and basically designed a robot. >> this is about the size of a fire hydrant. >> yes. basically, how does it work? >> it will roam with the street and peck up garbage. and it runs on it it would- pick up garbage and it is on multiple howar powered solar powered -- and it will pick up the garbage. and somehow it will convert that to energy and even surplus energy to the battery. >> self sustaining. >> how does it know what his car car bridge and was not? >> i was able to use

>> one east bay community is taking action against property. kron four's jeff pierce explains some of the best area are replacing those tags with impressive images. >> when fifteenth street between webster and franklin in downtown oakland was the target of spray can taggers art gallery owner jaime galinda and his friends in the art community came together to attack the problem with street art. >> i'm an artist, my friends are artists, my wife's an artist, let's beautify the neighborhood through art, paint over the tagging and graffiti that makes it look horrible and replace it with beautiful vibrant art. i'm really happy what we did out here on this block but i wanted to take it a step further. >> while the art collective gave the street a whimsical sense of innocence galinda wanted to demonstrate that true graffiti art that comes from the street. transcends the crude vandalism the neighborhood

>> our top story the storm is no. 3. morning... storm number three has arrived in the bay this latest storm is expected to bring an additional seven to eight inches of rain in higher elevations. as well as gusty winds.. with the north bay getting the brunt of the rain. first, we want to start in the weather center. this is the third in a series of storms to hit the bay area. the winds have also made an impact with a just a couple of inches. >> yes, that red band indicating 2 in. per hour. santa rosa, a little bit of the dry break as a presses south-eastern gusting. the

yellow, the red is indicating a heavy downpour. santa rosa getting a break but towards novado and the east bayshore fajita heavy rain but not quite that downpour it is pressed inland. antioch 1 in. per hour. as for the coastal in peninsula area is not quite as intense it is continuing to press south. the yellow and red indicating a couple of inches per hour. you can see the watches and warnings impacting the russian river, napa both expected to exceed the flood stages. fifth that is in combination with this already saturated soil from the past two storms. including this third storm with down trees, power lines already a lot of power outages and the high wind

russian rivers could reach flood stage later today. to get you more news faster, let's go to our solo reporter kron four's mike pelton live in corte madera this morning. >> good morning. a steady downpour of rain. this is a little bit lighter than they saw a short time ago 7:15 this huge weather cell moved through the wind was so strong it press on the newsman. it can tell so strong with visibility just a couple of hundred feet. and at the creek, continues to downpour with rainfall one resident says that this water is about five or 6 ft. higher than he has ever seen at fourth the department of public works say that they are considering to call the office of emergency management to help them respond to all these troubles they are seeing in the north bay. there are
